FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are Kids Allowed at adult classes?
The short answer is yes. We love having families attend classes together and have done so with great success and joy in the past. There are, however, a couple things to consider. All kids must be supervised by an adult at all times. Kids who are old enough to participate in class activities must be ticketed like any other participant. Kids who are not old enough to participate must be supervised at all times by a non-participant adult. All non participants (both adults and children) are subject to site use and meals costs. Students under 12 are not allowed to attend shop classes.
Can i bring my dog(s)?
Unfortunately, but understandably, all of our sites have restrictions on outside animals. Many of our remote sites have animals of their own who may be threatened by new animal presence. For the safety of your own animals please leave your pets at home or with family or friends. Students who show up on site with animals will be turned away and no refunds will be given.
Are there adult scholarships available?
We have a "pay what you can" and "work trade" options for low income adult students from historically excluded communities. We do ask that our policies not be abused and to please remember that the purpose of adult education at BOWS is to raise money to support our work with marginalized youth. To apply for a discounted ticket or work trade email us at blackoakwilderness@gmail.com
